Hypothesis

Wurster Hall's shading devices intrigued me, at first I thought they were shelves designed to reflect daylight deep into the building.  When I learned that they were actually shading devices,  I was a bit disappointed, and thought it would be interesting to study their effectiveness in controlling glare.  We have seen in this class many examples of building features designed for a specific purpose which had backfired in some way, such as windows to bring in light that end up bringing in too much heat.  Given this context, I hypothesized that Wurster Hall's shading devices would not work effectively, and that significant glare would be a problem in this building.
