Openwave Systems Inc., Redwood City, CA – 2006 to Present

    •       Developed embedded mobile browser software in C to lay out pages, implementing HTML & CSS specs

    •       Designed and developed cell phone User Interfaces in Java Script, and the back-end functionality in C++

CED’s Ecological Designs, Palo Alto, CA – 2005 to 2006

    •       Designed and modeled ecological remodels and additions for homes in Palo Alto and San Mateo County

University of California, Berkeley Seismological Laboratory, Berkeley, CA –2004 to 2005

The BSL operates the Northern California Earthquake Data Center, a regional database of seismic and GPS data.  Primary responsibility: maintaining integrity of GPS data archive.

    •       Solaris UNIX network programming with Perl, C, C-shell, ftp, teqc

    •       Developed software for large real-time streaming GPS data sets

    •       Import, quality control, trouble shoot, archive, and process data for the NCEDC

    •       Developed processing programs for San Andreas Fault Observation at Depth seismic data

Harris Corporation, Microwave Communications Division, Redwood Shores, CA – 1996 to 2003

Harris MCD engineers high-capacity radios for internet backbone, phone, and emergency-response networks.

    •       Software Project Manager: determined, prioritized, and assigned tasks, tracked progress

    •       Specified, designed, and developed software controlling real-time embedded distributed radio hardware

    •       Developed user interfaces, database services and objects, hardware configuration and control

    •       Interfaced with customers, senior management, engineers, system testers, and manufacturers

    •       Saved millions of dollars by creating a software solution which avoided tech field visits

    •       Maintained version control environment, made builds and verified or sent them to systems testers

Malagasy Encyclopedia, Madagascar, and Palo Alto, CA – October 2003 to January 2004

    •       Developed a Perl program to analyze files containing GPS and photo information, and automatically generate an ArcView import file and two thousand web files for the GPS locations and photos

    •       Created an ArcView 8.3 Digital Elevation Map of Madagascar overlaid with GPS points color coded by date and linked to websites of photos taken there as part of a data collection effort for a web based encyclopedia of the Malagasy language

Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society, Cupertino, CA – 2002 and 2003

The Society helped restore creeks by monitoring and tracking invasive plants and animals

    •       Located positions and extents of non-native invasives in San Francisquito Creek using Trimble GPS units

    •       Mapped and analyzed such data covering four creeks using ArcView GIS software

    •       Recognized as 2003 Volunteer of the Year for mapping contributions
